Mineral oil defoamer is mainly composed of mineral oil, inorganic hydrophobic particles, defoaming additives, and emulsifiers. Mineral oil is mainly used as a carrier inside the defoamer, and the substances obtained by hydrogenation of the fraction of crude oil from 250 to 415℃, including kerosene, diesel oil, motor oil, white oil, liquid wax, alkyl benzene, naphthenic oil. These mineral oils are liquid at room temperature, and the dosage is 60~85% of the total mass of the defoamer.
The main role of mineral oil defoamer is to reduce surface tension to defoaming, foam inhibition, and defoaming effect, where the main defoaming substances include fatty acid metal soap, silica, aluminum oxide, magnesium oxide, zinc oxide, and other chemical substances, through a certain proportion of the proportion of modulation.
Mineral oil defoamer can be in acidic as well as alkaline conditions can be effective. And it has very good heat resistance, versatility is also very strong, and non-flammable, non-explosive properties. The use of mineral oil defoamer also does not affect the basic nature of the foaming system. It is also relatively inexpensive. It can be used in mining, refining, smelting, oil field, drilling, mineral processing, and other fields. But mineral oil defoamer is poorly compatible, and not too good for intensive foam defoaming effect. It is not very adaptable to high-shear environments. Not very suitable for use in products with strict requirements on color.
Mineral oil defoamer has the characteristics of fast defoaming, high efficiency, long foam inhibition, etc. It can be dispersed in oily systems and become emulsions with moderate stability, and stability under alkaline conditions, not based on silicone, so it is widely used.
